Mahmutović for NAP: We paid the fee thanks to good people, FIS Vitez helped first

Thanks to people of goodwill, we have resolved the issue with the fee, and the people from FIS Vitez were the first to help us, Harun Mahmutović, Secretary General of the Basketball Federation of BiH, told the Patria agency.

We remind you that FIBA, after the victory of BiH cadets over Germany 70:54, which secured them a place in the semi-finals of the Eurobasket and direct qualification for the 2016 World Championship, interrupted the celebration of the players and the professional staff, warning that they would expel BiH from the competition if the 10,000 euros in fee costs were not paid.

Mahmutović told Patria that the problem is not just the fee and these 10,000 euros, but the overall attitude of the authorities towards the Basketball Federation of BiH.

- I will just tell you that the Basketball Federations of Croatia and Serbia have budgets of 5 million KM each and say it's not enough. Then it is clear to you what situation we are in.

Although the BiH Basketball Federation was promised aid from the Council of Ministers in the amount of 100,000 KM a month ago, those funds have not been paid to date. However, on the other hand, although the owner of FIS Vitez, Pero Gudelj, is in a serious condition after being shot in the head a few days ago, the leaders of this company had understanding for our Federation.
