Maglaj Library Organizes 12th Mulabdić Days of Culture

The renovated General Library of Maglaj will once again traditionally organize the 12th "Mulabdić Days of Culture" event, in honor of the Bosnian writer Edhem Mulabdić, a native of Maglaj, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Mulabdić is also the first Bosniak playwright, and the author of novels, novellas, short stories... The book "Zeleno busenje" is mandatory school reading.

As part of the event, on February 3rd at 7 PM, the play "Ljubavni žulj" directed by Mirela Trepanić will be performed in the reading room of the General Library.

Tickets at a price of 5 KM will be on sale from January 26th.

We remind you that after the floods in May 2014, this library lost 70 percent of its book collection, about 28,000 books. Only through the composure of the employees and director Nina Salkić-Bunjevac, a large number of books were saved, as well as old editions of Mulabdić's works.

Through numerous organized campaigns, which are still ongoing, the only library in Maglaj has renewed its collection and has been serving citizens again since August 2014.
