A large number of residents from Maglaj welcomed Eldar Memišević tonight in Ljiljan Park. Memišević, playing for the Qatar national team at the World Championship in Qatar, won a silver medal, writes maglajinfo.com, reports the Patria News Agency.
Memišević was welcomed in his hometown of Maglaj in a spectacular manner with the words "Welcome Champion".
From the very beginning of the major handball gathering in Qatar, Memišević was a key player for coach Valero Rivera. However, he himself admitted in an interview with Patria a few months ago that both the coach and the players would be satisfied if they placed among the top six teams at the World Championship. But they achieved more than they expected.
He does not hide that he followed the game of the Dragons (Bosnia and Herzegovina national team) in Qatar with great enthusiasm. He says he would have been happy if they had achieved a better result, but he believes that the Bosnian and Herzegovinian handball players have shown that they can certainly be counted on in future major competitions.
