Magazinović to Zvizdić: Do not implement a project to reduce the most numerous people to 20% of the territory!

Saša Magazinović, MP in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament, today addressed a question to the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Denis Zvizdić, at a joint session of both houses of the BiH Parliament, after which a sort of discussion ensued between Magazinović and Zvizdić, reports a reporter of the Patria News Agency.

- In what phase is the process of adopting the Decision on the Coordination Mechanism on the European path, and what elements of the cantons' role in this process have been adopted or agreed upon so far – asked Magazinović.

Zvizdić, in response to the question, stated that the coordination mechanism will respect all constitutional competencies of all levels in BiH.

I will remind you of some constitutional competencies of individual levels of government. For example, the exclusive competence of BiH is planetary, foreign trade, and customs policy. The exclusive competence of the FBiH is fiscal policy, as well as economic policy and the adoption of regulations in the financial institutions of the FBiH. In the RS, competence is regulated by the Constitution, which states that the RS has all competencies except those transferred to its institutions by the BiH Constitution. However, at the FBiH level, we also have divided competencies among cantons, such as healthcare, environment, and social policy. The coordination mechanism will not expand or derogate from anyone's competencies in BiH – Zvizdić said, among other things.

Magazinović reacted immediately, stating that he was not satisfied because the Chairman had not answered the question.

- I am not surprised by that, but I am concerned, because such a coordination mechanism, hidden from the public and conducted in this way, should provide an institutional basis for one territory, as financial sustainability has already been ensured through the division of companies in the FBiH into Croatian and Bosniak ones, and the territory will likely be formalized through the election law, and we will see how it is planned to be done. I want to believe that the Chairman of the Council of Ministers will not be the executor of a project to reduce the most numerous people to 20 percent of the territory.

Let me tell you right away that I believe that in the strongest party in the Council of Ministers, there are people who will not allow the division of BiH and will fight for it, and I also believe there are those who want it. It is time to answer these questions very clearly. We will monitor this process and publicly warn about all shortcomings – said Magazinović, and Zvizdić rejected all his claims.
