Magazinović and Zaev: The region needs to progress together towards the EU

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Saša Magazinović, President of the Main Board of SDP BiH, met in Skopje with the President of the Social Democratic Union of North Macedonia (SDSM) Zoran Zaev, with whom he discussed inter-party cooperation between SDP BiH and SDSM in the run-up to the elections in North Macedonia, as well as the local elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The exceptional cooperation between the two sister parties was confirmed, which will be further enriched by joint projects in the coming period. On that occasion, Zaev once again confirmed his readiness to continue providing friendly assistance to Bosnia and Herzegovina within his capacities. 

Magazinović also participated in a conference titled "One Balkan towards the EU", where he spoke on a panel of leaders moderated by Zoran Zaev, and which, in addition to Magazinović, included Davor Bernardić, Vesna Pusić, and Zoran Živković, among others. 

In his presentation, Magazinović particularly emphasized that in the coming period, he expects Brussels to change its approach to our region from the current technocratic one to a political one that will be characterized by an understanding of the capacities of individual states, which, in his assessment, would be a way to accelerate the European path of the entire region. Magazinović is of the opinion that the countries of the region should receive candidate status without additional conditions, and transform and increase their capacity through membership negotiations. 

In his presentation, Zoran Zaev also spoke about the need for stronger cooperation between the countries of the region, in order, among other things, to accelerate the integration processes of all countries individually. 

During his stay in Skopje, Magazinović also had meetings with the Prime Minister of the Government of North Macedonia, Oliver Spasovski, Minister Edmond Ademi, Members of the European Parliament from the Social Democratic group, as well as representatives of international foundations.
