Magazinović: EU does not want BiH in its membership because Muslims bother them

SARAJevo, (Patria) - Head of the SDP BiH MPs Club in the BiH Parliament, Saša Magazinović, noted that he said two years ago that the EU does not want BiH, commenting on the statements of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán about the problem of two million Muslims in BiH.

“Two years ago, here in Parliament, I said that the EU does not want BiH in its membership but is looking for a nice way to say it by setting preconditions that they know in advance we cannot deliver. At that time, I said that there is this xenophobic policy that is strengthening in Europe, and it is not BiH that bothers them, but the Muslims who live in BiH. They told me then that I was exaggerating. What has come out in public and what Orbán's spokesperson is saying is thought by a much larger, worrying number of people in European institutions, and I think we should talk about it because if this is that Europe, then I think we should not go to the EU, because these are not European values,” said Magazinović.

SDP Vice-President Vojin Mijatović believes that Muslims in BiH are more European than half of the Europeans.

“I have no problem with the perception of Hungary, Croatia, or Slovenia; unfortunately, it is not good towards BiH. Three or four weeks ago, we were with many European parliamentarians who think completely differently from Ms. Ahorst, Orbán, and Milanović. We sent a very clear message, and that must be BiH's stance. Nothing else has been attacked in BiH but European values, and if they think it will end here in BiH, they are greatly mistaken. Within a few months, they will have the exact same problem in the heart of Europe, in Brussels, if they are ready for it, be our guest. What is important for us is that we know who the enemies of this country are, but I have a question for the authorities, those who boast about patriotism, who are the friends? Has any president come out and said the opposite? We need to examine that, who are BiH's friends?” said Mijatović.
