Lukač: SPUS must explain the events at the Electoral Assembly to Sarajevo students

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Following the statement of thirteen student associations that left the Electoral Assembly session, Adnan Lukač, a member of the Democratic Front's Youth Affairs Committee, reacted, demanding that the Student Parliament of the University of Sarajevo explain the events at the held session to the students they are supposed to represent.

- Given that we are accustomed to receiving half-hearted and populist statements from the current representatives of SPUS, the highest representative body of students should answer the following specific questions:

- How long did the application process take and when did it end? Were all applications considered at the Electoral Assembly session that arrived at least ten days before the session, and were the names of the candidates published at least seven days before the session, as stipulated by the Law on Student Organizing of KS?
- Who were the members of the Electoral Commission, and was any member of the commission part of the SPUS leadership, which is not allowed by the Law on Student Organizing?
- Are the interests of all UNSA students represented at the Electoral Assembly, and were the Law on Student Organizing of KS, the Statute of UNSA, or the Statute of SPUS violated in any way during the election process?
- Did Haris Zahiragić, who was a candidate for the Party of Democratic Action in the previous General Elections, attend the session, and if so, in what capacity and did he address the assembly members?
- Did the current president of SPUS, Merim Serdarević, tell one of the assembly members that "she should be ashamed of the headscarf she wears," and does SPUS consider such behavior acceptable?
- Do you consider SPUS to be an adequate representative of students if thirteen constituent associations believe that the election of the SPUS leadership is illegal?

Until the representatives of the Student Parliament in Sarajevo answer the open questions listed, it is difficult to consider SPUS an adequate and legal representative of Sarajevo students. We have long witnessed the public "collusion" of SPUS with the Party of Democratic Action, which was confirmed by the fact that some members of the SPUS leadership were also candidates for the aforementioned party, and the question arises clearly: "In whose interest does the Student Parliament work?", because, unfortunately, it has not been working in the interest of students for a long time.
