The Association of Camp Survivors of Mostar issued a press release strongly opposing the further division of BiH.
"In their inability to solve economic and social problems, which they bombarded us with during the election campaign, the ruling elites have decided to offer us a new 'pacifier' and reorganize the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina," the Association's statement reads, as reported by the Patria News Agency.
They assess the new organization of Bosnia and Herzegovina as an impossible mission because Republika Srpska is a hard nut to crack, i.e., it is a 'grey zone' for Bosniaks and Croats. When one is unwilling to fight for a Bosnia and Herzegovina where it doesn't matter which city or village one lives in, it is much simpler to copy the recipe of the smaller entity and organize, i.e., divide, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina into two entities.
It is understood, and not hidden, that this is based on ethnic criteria. To be truthful, the current leadership of SDA is sending us messages that the consolidation of cantons or the creation of 'mega cantons' is based on geographical, historical, communication, economic, and ethnic factors, while their partners from HDZ do not hide that it is based on ethnic criteria which is dominant in achieving their war aims, i.e., a whole Bosnia in three parts.
The political elite treats us as beings who like to lick salt from a hand, as if we don't know that the Washington Agreement created the FBiH on a wartime ethnic principle. What is the unification of such created cantons on that principle? Of course, we know, it is the ghettoization of people, and we are sensible enough not to have to try to know that we would end up with an exodus as a result," the statement reads.
The Association of Camp Survivors of Mostar further states that it is "the last straw... calling for a change to the Constitution of the FBiH in which Mostar would be declared the capital of the Federation, based on which infrastructure would be built to realize HDZ's wish for Mostar to be a Croatian capital city".
"We are former camp survivors of Mostar from the so-called Herceg Bosna camps, whose policies were condemned as a criminal enterprise in The Hague. We are those who have been bitten by snakes and therefore fear the boa constrictor with full right. Isn't the fear justified when proponents of a third entity still shamelessly implement secondary education based on the invention of 'two schools under one roof' according to the recipe of the 'Law on Benches' adopted in the Reichstag in 1939, or proudly name streets in Mostar after Pavelić's executioners. In a third entity, or as some affectionately call it, a 'mega canton', all of this would be amplified to the nth degree.
Perhaps someone believes that this is a unique opportunity to remove Herzegovina, i.e., its Bosniaks, as a 'burden or noose around the neck' and thus, if in no other way, solve the Croatian question. Surely, everything Bosniak south of Ivan Planina cannot meet the certification.
We remind the ruling politicians of just a small group of great Bosniaks from Herzegovina who worked for the benefit of all citizens of BiH, so they understand the importance of Herzegovina and Bosniaks in the homeland: Derviš-paša Bajezidagić; Mustafa Ejubović Šejh Jujo; Fevzi Mostarac; Ali paša Rizvahbegović; Safet-beg Bašagić; Omer Humo; Bekir Kalajdžić; Mehmed-beg Ljubušak; Muftija Ali Fehmi Džabić; Bešir Pintul; Mujaga Komadina; Osman Nuri Hadžić; Husaga Ćišić; Avdo Humo; Džemal Bijedić; Alija Nametak; Smail Balić; Bešir Pintul; Ibrahim ef.Riđanović; Mehmedalija~Mak Dizdar; Meho Sefić; Affan Ramić; Zuko Džumhur; Kasim Prohić; Hamza Humo; Hivzija Hasandedić; Himzo Poiovina; Alija lsaković; Osman Pirija; Hakija Turajić; Nijaz Duraković; Fadil Hadžić; Safet Isović; Midhad Hujdur Hujka with numerous fighters who laid down their lives for our only homeland," the statement adds.
It further states that the Association of Camp Survivors of Mostar does not accept "the principle of Karadžić and his associates by which they solved the Bosniak and Croatian question in RS, and therefore we firmly say that the further division of BiH will not pass".
"We will use all democratic means to prevent you in this endeavor for the sake of the future and peace in these areas. There is no Bosnia and Herzegovina, nor Bosnia itself without Herzegovina. In Herzegovina and Mostar lies the key to the civilizational organization of a state in which no one will feel cramped, but everyone will be content on every inch of BiH," the press release from the Association of Camp Survivors of Mostar concludes.
