Lobotomy

I still am not sure whether the destruction of everything that was even remotely good in Bosnia and Herzegovina – from education to healthcare – was the result of a deliberate and systemically sponsored practice, or rather part
of an uncontrolled chaos sponsored by relatives and party loyalists?! If it is part of a systemic campaign, then it truly confirms the darkest thoughts about the causes and nature of the breakup of Yugoslavia...

But, if it is part of chaos, then it is realistic to ask: Why has no one even tried to stop it so far? And what is so much more important than good education, judiciary, healthcare, and the truth about them, that all nationalists rise up to prevent speaking the truth?

What is so fundamentally wrong with nationalists that no move they make leads to anything good... This applies equally and equivalently at the individual level as well as at the general level... at all levels, in all spheres, in all domains, instead of peace they bring unrest, instead of order they bring disorder. War, privatization, transition, administration, bureaucracy... It seems that this anti-system is slowly crumbling... What did not even look like political maneuvering continued as a well-known story with notary contracts for „selected“ representatives and an uninteresting report on "ownership" over mandates and people. All of this, individually and collectively, are just the first crumbs that have fallen from the table where the „cake“ of power is being divided. It is to be expected that soon there will be so many crumbs that every step around the table will represent a potential danger of getting dirty. However, danger only lurks for those who are not already dirty. 

Although, twenty-five years of trudging through Bosnian mud has hardly left anyone sane. Because, if we were talking about normal people, reviewing the work of any segment of this society would be an opportunity,
even a chance, to praise the successful work of a group of people who had lived until then without names and surnames, without public fame and recognition, dedicated and committed experts who spent most of their lives over books and in a close circle of teachers and mentors. It would be an opportunity for the parliament of a significant part of a country to mention names, point to achievements and results, reward the most deserving, ask for help in acquiring even newer technology, approve some, if not significant, funds for improving work, and finally, at a modest reception or gathering, exchange a few informal, less courteous, and more words full of gratitude for the previous good work and encouragement for better work in the future... aware that sooner rather than later we will all become users of their services.

If there were even a shred of truth in all the claims made so far about the success of the administration, the legality of appointments, the legality and legitimacy of those appointed and placed, reviewing the work of any institution would be met with relief, with joy, with hope that the official institution would confirm that truth... Instead, establishing the truth here is perceived as a threat, danger, insult, besmirching the character and
work of both the living and the dead, a settling of scores between „reds“ and „greens“, threatening vital national interests, a call to overthrow the government...

Everything would be easier if this were actually about truth, if anything here were grounded in truth. Or at least, medicine... If it were about truth or at least medicine, the vital interest would always be before the national one. But,
there is not a trace of decency here, let alone truth. This is normal in a country ruled by self-promoted leaders without any commendable, let alone leadership qualities, politicians without any, let alone respectable biographies, representatives and delegates in which going to the hospital is not a matter of pain and medicine, illness and treatment, recovery and a better life, but rather – as someone said – a matter of political decision... Even more than that, a matter of life and death decided by the uninvited and unworthy.

It is clear that as such, they do not think that they, let alone their children, will ever get sick, and even if they do get sick, they are sure that their single-mandate salary of half a million or 770,000 marks can secure them treatment in the best medical centers in the world, where constituent peoples do not rule and where people are treated by doctors, not by Bosniaks, Serbs, Croats, Muslims, Orthodox, Catholics... whatever, those who put the well-being and health of the patient first, not peace at home...

But, what if in one of those world centers they are met by one of the doctors once dismissed from KCUS?
