Ljubić confirmed, HDZ openly seeks ethno-territorial division of Bosnia and Herzegovina

President of the Main Board of the Croatian National Assembly (HNS) of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Božo Ljubić, speaking about Bosnia and Herzegovina's membership in NATO, said that Croatian politics in BiH and the Croatian people absolutely support Euro-Atlantic integration, which means membership in the EU and NATO as their strategic interest.

"When it comes to the registration of military property, the position of the Main Board of the HNS is that Croatian politics supports all decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH, including those that serve to activate the MAP and BiH's membership in NATO," Ljubić said, among other things, in an interview with Večernji list, adding that all property that is not a condition for activating the MAP and NATO membership should be made available to municipalities and cantons in the Federation of BiH, i.e., the Republika Srpska.

Analysts assessed this statement by Ljubić as a definitive commitment of the HNS, i.e., the HDZ, towards the ethno-territorial division of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

State property expert Muharem Cero tells the Patria agency that the HDZ and SNSD are carrying out the division of BiH along ethnic or territorial models precisely through state property.

"No one is talking anymore about the Law on the Disposal of State Property of BiH, which should define the fate of state property; instead, Ljubić and his team want to resolve it in the way they have envisioned. They are openly moving towards the division of state property and thus the division of BiH," Cero believes, presenting his view of how Dodik and Čović plan to divide BiH.

"Dodik and Čović planned to carry out the division of the state in three moves. First, Dodik opposed the registration of military property to the state. The second step is that Dodik agrees to register only that military property needed for the MAP to BiH. MAP is a path to NATO, but not NATO itself. The third step is the registration of state property to municipalities, cantons, and the RS, as discussed by Božo Ljubić, which also means the division of BiH along the ethno-territorial model," Cero believes, adding that this would also mean the legalization of previously looted state property of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Cero believes that these two parties will now exert pressure to register state property to municipalities and cantons, i.e., the RS, before the verdict in the Prlić et al. case before the Hague Tribunal, which is to be read in November this year, because a possible verdict for a joint criminal enterprise, he points out, would likely mean the abolition of everything formed on that crime.

Nevertheless, Cero concludes, in order for Bosnia and Herzegovina to be divided according to the Čović-Dodik model, the consent of the political representatives of the Bosniak side is also needed.
