Ljevaković: Iftars cannot be held in pubs, nor can Bayram be celebrated with wine

Iftars cannot be organized in pubs, nor can Bayram be celebrated with wine, and this is not appropriate, especially in a country where believers have choices and many facilities where forbidden things are not offered, Enes Ljevaković, professor at the Faculty of Islamic Sciences in Sarajevo and Sarajevo Mufti, told the BH News Agency Patria.

During the holy month of Ramadan, many catering facilities in Sarajevo compete to see who will prepare a better iftar menu for fasting people, and after Ramadan, who will have a better Bayram gathering. Thus, Pivnica Sarajevo offers fasting people an iftar menu for only 15 KM in a beautiful ambience. Peoples Club offers Sarajevans to spend Bayram with the best wine and the best music, and they also guarantee the craziest atmosphere in the city for this Islamic holiday.

- The Islamic Community criticized the so-called Bayram parties held in some catering facilities a few years ago, and it seems to me that such things have subsided considerably lately – says Professor Ljevaković.

- Of course, it is not right, it is not appropriate to celebrate iftar or Bayram in such an ambience – warned Professor Ljevaković, writes Patria.
