Medical Chamber of FBiH wrote to Prime Minister Novalić: Do not drive patients and doctors out of the hospital

The Medical Chamber of FBiH sent a letter to the Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH, Fadil Novalić, asking him to abandon the "sad idea" of the FBiH Government moving into the premises of the General Hospital "Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakaš", writes the BiH news agency Patria.

The letter is part of the conclusions from a meeting of the Medical Chamber held on Wednesday in Zenica, and it was also requested through this channel that this hospital not be turned into the FBiH Government building.

- Do not allow yourselves, your ministers, and your administration to enter hospital premises, premises intended for sick people. It is not moral. It is not fair to the sick people for whom this hospital is intended. If you are not the initiators of this sad idea, then I ask you to publicly distance yourself from it - the Medical Chamber of FBiH stated.

It is stated that it is the "obligation" of the Prime Minister and the Government to "allow this poor and deceived people to at least have their hospitals where they can be treated".

The Chamber warned the federal Prime Minister that he could become the first Prime Minister in human history to have "driven patients and doctors out of a hospital in order to move his ministers and administration into it".

In the end, the Chamber emphasized that they hope "common sense will prevail and that this idea will not be realized".

We remind you that after the appointment of the former director of the General Hospital, Sebija Izetbegović, as the director of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo (UKCS), extra-institutional preparations began for the transfer of doctors to UKCS, which would ultimately lead to the closure of the General Hospital.

However, under public pressure, this process was stopped, and according to the Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton, Elmedin Konaković, it is impossible until official decisions are made by the KS Assembly and both houses of the FBiH Parliament.

As confirmed by Patria from several doctors, the General Hospital is operating completely normally and is at the service of patients.
