Doctors warn of mobbing at KCUS: Immoral offers and threats are unacceptable behavior

Dr. Hasan Tanović, a specialist in orthopedic surgery at KCUS and president of the branch of the Union of Physicians and Dentists of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, warned in a letter that doctors at KCUS are experiencing mobbing, reports the Patria agency.

- The professional board of the Clinic for Orthopedics and Traumatology a few days ago compiled a complaint about the manner in which the head of this clinic was dismissed. 14 out of 18 members of the board signed this moral act. After the news reached the media, unprecedented mobbing of the doctors who signed ensued, resulting in 5 colleagues withdrawing their signatures after direct and clear threats and blackmail. A certain number of individuals who withdrew their signatures were subsequently rewarded with promotions, which could very easily be the reason for their withdrawal of signatures.

We believe that immoral offers and threats are unacceptable behavior, especially for doctors whom many look up to as role models in society - states the letter that the doctors sent to the Medical Chamber of Sarajevo Canton, in which they demand the chamber's reaction to this case.

They remind the members of the Chamber's management that the chamber's statute defines the following goals:

- Preservation and protection of the interests of the medical profession
- Fulfillment of professional and personal needs of doctors
- Ensuring conditions for organized representation of doctors before state authorities,
associations, health institutions...
- Protection of citizens' health,

The doctors once again emphasize that bypassing the professional board of the clinic when making important decisions represents a serious violation against people's health and therefore believe that it is necessary for the chamber to actively get involved and protect its members, in order to justify its existence. Additional pressure and insecurity during the performance of regular activities at
work also represent criminal charges filed with the Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton against a group of doctors who publicly expressed their opinion. Such a stressful and uncertain situation is not good and negatively affects the responsible work and interaction with patients.
