Livno: In 1938, the city was buried in snow

There have always been heavy snowfalls in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and a photograph from Livno from 1938, when two meters of snow fell, is circulating on social media, writes the Patria news agency.

At that time, there was a complete halt, not only of bus and car traffic, but also of horse-drawn traffic in the Bosnian part of the Primorska Banovina.

Traffic was thus halted on the following roads: Livno – Bosansko Grahovo, Livno – Glamoč, Livno – Kupres, Livno – Tomislavgrad, Šuica – Tomislavgrad, Tomislavgrad – Posušje, Livno – Imotski, Tomislavgrad – Imotski, Prozor – Bugojno, Prozor – Tomislavgrad, and Split – Livno.

According to those reports, the snow began to fall on Tuesday (February 1, 1938) afternoon. The snow fell throughout the night and Wednesday, reaching over two meters in places.
