„List Krajiškog inata“ symbolizes all victims of aggression in Bosanska Krajina

„List Krajiškog inata“ is an conceptual solution by designers Adnan Bajrić and Enes Klopić that symbolizes July 20th, the day of the collective burial of Prijedor victims during the aggression on Bosnia and Herzegovina from 1992 to 1995, writes the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

„List Krajiškog inata“ also symbolizes all victims in Bosanska Krajina in the valleys of the Una and Sana rivers.

- The leaf symbolizes the obligation to remember, defiance towards criminals and evil, and pride and a pledge for collective progress – said Adnan Bajrić, one of the authors of the symbol.

The other designer, Enes Klopić, who also created the redesigned Srebrenica Flower, said that the design also resembles a heart on which the traces of the Una and Sana rivers, rivers of blood, remain.

- White symbolizes the goodness and innocence of these victims, and green symbolizes growth, stability, and resilience, which is widely known through the Krajiški inat (Krajiška defiance) – said Klopić.

Bajrić explained that consultations were held with representatives of associations of surviving victims and participants of the defense of BiH, disabled persons and veterans, national and religious institutions, and prominent individuals, and an agreement was reached on such a design of the symbol.

- Without diminishing the significance of any previous symbol, we will modify it and supplement its description – messages – during the next year, said Bajrić, adding that he hopes that the idea of a „Museum of Genocide in the Sana River Valley“ will soon be affirmed and realized in the context of notorious camps, mass graves, as well as the idea of a „Museum of the Siege and Defense of the Bihać District for 1201 days“, with various multimedia content, memories and experiences of the siege and defense, and crimes in the Una River Valley.

From May to August 1992, more than 3,500 thousand people, women, elderly, and children, most of whom were Muslims, were killed in the Prijedor and Kozarac area. The bodies of the murdered were buried in pits, mine shafts, and designated mass graves. Some were exhumed and moved to other locations several times with the aim of never being found.

The collective martyr's funeral for the murdered residents of Prijedor and Kozarac will be held in Kozarac, on Sunday, July 20, 2014, at the „Bratstvo“ stadium, starting at 9:30 AM.
