The Tel Aviv-based media outlet stated that "a court in Bosnia and Herzegovina issued an arrest warrant for Milorad Dodik, the leader of the Serb minority in the country, due to his separatist activities".

"Following the publication of the arrest warrant, Israeli officials informed Dodik that he was not welcome, which led him to leave the event with his entourage.

According to the court's statement, Dodik is charged with undermining the constitutional order and leaving the country in violation of court orders.

Reuters reported that Dodik was sentenced to one year in prison and a six-year ban from political activity after defying the decisions of the international peace envoy.

It also states that "Dodik, a long-time pro-Russian advocate for secession from Bosnia and an ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, pushed through a law prohibiting the activities of state judiciary and police in the Serb-majority region".

"The law was temporarily suspended by the Constitutional Court of BiH. Dodik has repeatedly threatened to separate RS from BiH and unite it with neighboring Serbia, which Western countries have warned could reignite violent conflict in the region," the Israel Hayom text adds.

According to available information, the owner of the newspaper Israel Hayom is Miriam Adelson, who is also one of the biggest donors to the presidential campaign of US President Donald Trump. It was also her husband Sheldon, who became rich in Las Vegas by running casinos and hotels. Sheldon passed away in 2021.
