Lisica: The world must admit to itself that it supports the genocide committed by Israel

(Patria) - Israeli forces continued heavy bombing throughout the past night, while Israeli soldiers are trying to push "deeper" into the southern Gaza Strip in a ground offensive. Regarding the evacuation of BiH citizens from Gaza, 36 people have been successfully evacuated so far. The Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Egypt has sent a request for the evacuation of 54 people from Gaza, including 29 BiH citizens and their close relatives. The Israeli side has approved the departure of 42 people from the mentioned list from Gaza. Admir Lisica, historian and expert on international relations, spoke about why Palestine is the most important issue for the Islamic world in the show 'Dobar dan BiH' on Hayat TV.

- We are witnessing genocide. Genocide is being carried out against Palestinians. We cannot call what Israel is doing anything else. No one could have predicted that this would reach such proportions, that the world would approve of everything Israel is doing. All those who reacted very quickly in the context of Ukraine are now silent or have sided with Israel. We are witnessing the killing of children, the destruction of hospitals and schools, and mockery on social media. Israel is destroying infrastructure, killing civilians, and children. The world will have to look itself in the face and admit to itself that it supports what Israel is doing, which is a war crime, genocide. I hope Netanyahu will be held accountable before the International Court. In 2023, we are all witnessing enormous censorship - said Lisica.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog said that Israel cannot leave a vacuum in Gaza and will have to maintain strong forces there to prevent Hamas from reappearing in the Palestinian enclave. Lisica commented on what this will mean for Gaza and the Palestinians, and whether the global perception is changing.

- We had an announcement that Gaza is divided into north and south. Now they are being told to go west. The goal is the ethnic cleansing of Palestine, for Israel to take control of Gaza. That is what the world currently supports. We hope that reason will ultimately prevail. At some point, Israel will become a great burden for the US. World leaders immediately referred to October 7th and the operation carried out by Hamas. Everyone unanimously sided with Israel. At this moment, some leaders cannot explain to their citizens that they stand behind what is happening. We have polarization in the context of relations towards the Palestinian issue. There will be voices in the world that will try to reason with Israel. Biden will suffer a great loss due to the entire situation. Islamophobia will also rise in other countries. 2024 will be challenging. It will be interesting to follow everything that is coming. I hope the Balkans will pass without such things. We will not have peace until there is a two-state solution - emphasizes Lisica.

Many assess, or rather, criticize the attitude of Arab countries towards the war in Gaza. They believe they could have done much more to stop the bloodshed of Palestinians.

- Israel is known as a country that has invested heavily in technology and weaponry. The countries of the Arabian Peninsula are trying to balance. We hear warnings from various leaders of Islamic states. We have not had any serious actions. As long as Israel does not receive a concrete response from Arab leaders, it will continue to do what it is currently doing. Israel trades with various countries without hindrance.
