League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina posts posters "Don't touch my neighbour"

The League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina demands that the state protect all citizens and immediately stop spreading fear in Vojvodina, it was announced by the LSV, following attacks on bakeries owned by Albanians, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

These attacks are a direct consequence of the events at the Serbia - Albania match, which was interrupted due to riots, and everything started when a drone with an Albanian flag flew into the stadium.

- If the police are unable to protect innocent and loyal citizens of this country, let the gendarmerie and the army take to the streets. If the state is unable to stop this - the League members will protect their neighbours. It won't be the first time. We did it in the nineties, we will do it again. And always when needed - it was stated.

The League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina warned that the police should preventively protect establishments owned by persons of Albanian nationality in order to avoid a repeat of the situation from 2008. A total of six facilities were destroyed, three each in Novi Sad and Vršac.

- If we haven't seen spectacular footage of the arrests of those responsible for the stonings, shootings from moving cars, throwing bombs and Molotov cocktails that devastated three bakeries, new acts of barbarism should surprise no one.
The investigation that will identify the perpetrators of these crimes, which attempt to disrupt interethnic harmony, must be swift, and the court proceedings even faster - point out from the LSV.

The perpetrators of these criminal acts must have a name, surname and a prison sentence, warned from the LSV.

Yesterday, activists of the League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina in Novi Sad, Vršac, Sombor and Stara Pazova posted posters with the message „Don't touch my neighbour“, as a response to the attacks on bakeries owned by members of the Albanian national community.

– What has been happening in the last few days is unacceptable because these people are citizens of this country, they pay taxes in this country. The fact that they are of a different nationality or religion is just one of the diversities that characterize Vojvodina – state from the LSV.

With these posters, the League begins raising awareness among the citizens of Vojvodina so that such things no longer happen.
