Leaders of BiH parties optimistic, Izetbegović avoided journalists

Foreign Ministers of Germany and Great Britain Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Philip Hamond, during their visit to our country today, also spoke with leaders of BiH political parties, reports the Patria News Agency.

After a working lunch at the EU Delegation to BiH building in Sarajevo, some of the leaders addressed the journalists.

The head of HDZ BiH, Dragan Čović, said that most leaders want BiH to continue on the European path as soon as possible. He also said that the statement prepared by the BiH Presidency was discussed, emphasizing that it is now important to incorporate the ideas from today's meeting into that statement.

According to the president of SBB, Fahrudin Radončić, the leaders had a very constructive conversation with the German and British heads of diplomacy today.

- Party leaders had certain suggestions and ideas. I am truly a great optimist that we can accomplish this task with the help of the BiH Presidency, Radončić stressed.

The presidents of SDS, PDP, and HDZ 1990, Mladen Bosić, Mladen Ivanić, and Martin Raguž, also gave statements to the journalists.

Ivanić said that during the work on the statement being prepared by the BiH Presidency, they will try to provide a principled political stance that is more or less known to everyone.

- With additional clarification, I am convinced that this statement will be acceptable to everyone, and it is foolish not to accept lesser conditions than we had before, and to receive greater support in return, Ivanić said.

Mladen Bosić said that he understood today's meeting in the context that there are no hidden intentions or changes to the Dayton Agreement or the BiH Constitution, and that they received answers to everything that was under Milorad Dodik's "scrutiny of doubt".

Raguž expressed satisfaction with the strong arguments heard today from the German and British ministers and their readiness to help BiH.

Only the deputy president of SDS, Bakir Izetbegović, did not address the journalists, despite their requests.
