Leptospirosis in Sarajevo: Number of suspected cases rises, one patient remains hospitalized

(Patria) - The Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo informs the public that in the past 24 hours, five patients with clinical symptoms suggestive of possible leptospirosis infection were examined at the Clinic for Infectious Diseases.

One of the examined patients was admitted for hospital treatment.

KCUS continues to monitor the situation and will regularly inform the public about it.


An epidemic of the infectious disease leptospirosis in Sarajevo Canton was declared on May 23, 2025. A detailed overview of the epidemiological situation, with weekly updates, can be followed on the Institute's website.

The Institute for Public Health of Sarajevo Canton continuously monitors the epidemiological situation, and any changes will be updated in the presentation above.
