Lendo in Goražde: Golden Lilies remain a symbol of honor, bravery, and the defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina

(Patria) - The Vice President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Refik Lendo, attended the commemoration of the 28th traditional gatherings of recipients of the highest wartime recognitions of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Goražde.

Addressing the attendees, he emphasized the significance of commemorating the Day of the Golden Lilies, stating that the recipients of the highest wartime recognitions are symbols of bravery, honor, and determination in the defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

— The Golden Lilies were the best sons of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Their bravery, determination, and willingness to sacrifice remain an enduring value and pride of our homeland.

Today is an opportunity to express our respect to the recipients of the highest wartime recognitions, all members of the Army and MUP of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as martyrs and fallen soldiers who defended our homeland – Lendo stated.

He emphasized that the heroism of the fighters and their sacrifice are deeply embedded in the foundations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, stressing that preserving the state, its unity, and institutions remains the obligation of present and future generations.

Speaking about the significance of the venue for the gatherings, he said that Goražde, as a hero city, holds a special place in the history of the defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina and remains a symbol of resistance and defiance, which is confirmed by this year's message of the gathering "Goražde Hero City – to the Heroes of Bosnia".

As part of the commemoration program, Vice President Lendo laid flowers and paid tribute to the martyrs and fallen soldiers of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the memorial sites in Goražde by reciting Fatiha.

The gatherings were organized by the Association of Recipients of the Highest Wartime Recognitions of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the day, a parade was organized on the streets of the hero city, and numerous delegations paid tribute to the Golden Lilies and all the fighters who defended Bosnia and Herzegovina and gave us freedom.
