Lendo: Attack on Osman Mehanović is another consequence of the RS entity government's policy

(Patria) - The attack on Osman Mehanović in Bratunac, which evidently had ethnic hatred as its motive, is yet another indicator of the kind of environment for returnees created by the authorities of the RS entity, says FBiH Vice President Refik Lendo.

"The systemic denial of rights to Bosniak returnees, frequent attacks and threats, and the lack of sanctions for those responsible for attacks are clearly part of a strategy aimed at making life difficult for Bosniaks in the territory of the RS entity.

I call on the competent police agencies and judicial institutions to find, prosecute and sanction those responsible for this attack, and on representatives of the RS entity authorities to abandon discrimination against Bosniaks, as well as the promotion and encouragement of ethnic hatred.

I also remind High Representative Christian Schmidt that he is the high representative for the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina, not just the FBiH, and that he has an obligation to use his powers to help Bosniaks and Croats in the RS entity.

I wish Osman Mehanović a speedy recovery," Lendo said.
