Lendo at the promotion of the book 'Sociology of Genocide': Truth based on facts leaves no room for relativization

(Patria) - Vice President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Refik Lendo attended the promotion of the book "Sociology of Genocide" by author Prof. Dr. Adib Đozić.

The promotion was held in Ahmići, as part of the program marking the 33rd anniversary of the HVO crime against the Bosniak population of Ahmići, Donja Večeriska and other places in the municipality of Vitez.



In his address to those present, he emphasized that marking the crime in Ahmići goes beyond the act of remembrance and represents a permanent obligation to preserve the truth.

- Through the commemorative program, we remind ourselves of the suffering of the Bosniak population of Ahmići and of our obligation not to let that suffering be forgotten.

That obligation does not end and is not tied to just one day, but remains in our relationship to the truth and the way we pass it on to future generations - Lendo stressed.

He added that the book "Sociology of Genocide" represents an important contribution to preserving the truth in the public space.



- Truth based on facts leaves no room for relativization. Only on such foundations is it possible to build trust, responsibility and a secure future for everyone in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We must be educated and we must not be isolated. It is necessary to build trust and strengthen mutual relations, both within Bosnia and Herzegovina and beyond - Lendo emphasized.

At the end of his address, he thanked those present for coming and said that the crimes in Ahmići must never be forgotten, and that it is an obligation to preserve the memory of all victims of suffering in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
