Lendo: We are a people who do not allow threats; we will resist all attacks on the state

(Patria) - Vice President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Refik Lendo hosted an iftar in Mostar attended by over 100 guests, including numerous current and former political and military officials, cultural workers, and representatives of other spheres of society.

Addressing those present, Lendo said that Ramadan is a month of patience, but also of determination, and a month in which not only the spirit is strengthened, but also the awareness of the responsibility we all have towards our families, communities, society as a whole, and towards our homeland.

- The complex and challenging political moment our country is currently in requires us to gather as much as possible and to put all our capacities towards its protection. The state concerns each of us, and experience teaches us that if we do not deal with the state, those who do not wish it well will deal with it - Lendo said.

He added that the situation we are currently witnessing can, without any pretension, be called a coup d'état.

- An adequate response to this coup is not a question of political will, but a question of survival, freedom, dignity, and the future. But let no one doubt, Bosnia and Herzegovina will survive! It has gone through much more difficult trials and has emerged stronger each time - Lendo said.

In this context, he stated that our people know how to appreciate peace and how to preserve it.

- We are a people who do not threaten, but who will not allow themselves to be threatened. Our strength lies in the unity of all those who love this country, in the determination to protect its institutions, and in the readiness to resist any attempt to undermine its sovereignty - Lendo said.

He emphasized the importance of the role of the institutions of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina in resolving situations like the current one.

- In decisive moments, these institutions will still be an insurmountable bulwark against the enemies of this state, even despite the indecisiveness of those currently leading them - Lendo concluded.
