Lendo: How the Federation Government squanders state property and weakens the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina?

(Patria) - The adoption of the Decision on changing the purpose and temporary use of forest land without the consent of the BiH Attorney General's Office is a catastrophic move detrimental to the owner of state property, stated the Vice President of the Federation of BiH.

The Government of the Federation adopted this Decision, referring to the Opinion of the Office of the High Representative, which was interpreted as approval for changing the purpose and use of forest land without the consent of the state.

"Why was the provision on the mandatory consent of the BiH Attorney General's Office when disposing of state property excluded from the Decision of the Government of the Federation?

The BiH Attorney General's Office is an institution whose jurisdiction is to protect the rights and interests of the state, and it must be involved where decisions are made regarding the rights and obligations of the state, and especially regarding state property. A decision that excludes the BiH Attorney General's Office from the decision-making process represents a legal precedent detrimental to the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and directly endangers state property.

Every legal regulation adopted by the authorities must be aimed at strengthening the state and its institutions. The disposal of state property must be in accordance with the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in the best interest of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina as the sole owner of state property.

In my capacity as Vice President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, I demand that the authorities at all levels align their work with the Constitution and laws, strengthen state institutions, strengthen state competencies, protect state property, and make decisions that are in the best interest of the state," stated Lendo.
