Legija escorted to court by helicopter and heavy security

 

Ustanička Street in Belgrade was blocked, and helicopters hovered over the Serbian capital due to the transport of Milorad Ulemek Legija, reports the Patria News Agency.

He will testify at the trial for the murder of Slavko Ćuruvija as a “key witness“, and arrived at the Special Court building in Ustanička Street around 1 PM.

Legija was transferred from the prison in Požarevac, the convoy escorting him was monitored by a helicopter from the air, and the street where the Special Court is located was blocked. 

The former commander of the Special Operations Unit gave a statement to the Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime in January 2014, after which an official investigation against the accused was launched.
