Legija mentions Abdić's advisor Ajkin in his book about warfare in Krajina

One of the advisors to the newly elected mayor of Velika Kladuša, Fikret Abdić, is Hasan Galijašević, known as Ajkin. In Bosanska Krajina, he is known as the commander of a special unit within Abdić's paramilitary formations during the conflict with the Fifth Corps of the Army of RBiH from the end of 1993. The Fifth Corps claims to have extensive documentation of crimes for which Ajkin's unit was responsible.

Milorad Ulemek Legija also mentions Ajkin and his participation in the fighting against the units of the Fifth Corps of the Army of BiH in his book 'Babo', which describes his wartime path through Bihaćka Krajina.

During the Serbian aggression against BiH, Abdić separated from the official authorities in Sarajevo, establishing the autonomous province of Western Bosnia, which encompassed the northern part of Bosanska Krajina. Throughout the war in BiH, Abdić directly cooperated with the highest civilian and military leadership of Bosnian Serbs and the authorities from Belgrade, who would later end up before the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia. Abdić himself was convicted of crimes. The Municipal Court in Karlovac sentenced Abdić to 20 years in prison for crimes against Bosniaks. In 2005, the Supreme Court of the Republic of Croatia changed the sentence to 15 years in prison.

During the Local Elections in BiH on October 2, Abdić was elected mayor of Velika Kladuša, after which he appointed some of his wartime supporters to his cabinet, writes Patria.
