DINAMO LEGEND Zlatko Cico Kranjčar Passes Away

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Zlatko Cico Kranjčar, former footballer and coach from Croatia, passed away at the age of 69 at KBC Merkur after a short and severe illness, sportske.hr reported.

Kranjčar was a legendary Dinamo striker, who led the 'Blues' to their historic title in 1982.

The popular Cico was exceptionally attached to Dinamo, where he began his career, debuting for the first team in 1974 against Hajduk. As a player, he achieved great results, and continued in the same vein as a coach. Kranjčar played 307 games for Dinamo and scored 125 goals, and was a fan favorite and one of the main players in winning the legendary Yugoslav championship title in 1982. After his playing career, he returned to Dinamo as a coach and led the Blues to four trophies (two championships and two Cups), and in his rich coaching career, the Croatian championship title won with Zagreb in 2002 also stands out. Of course, among other things, he was also the coach of the Croatian national football team, which he led to the World Cup in Germany.
