Lazović: In the SDP, people became arrogant, greedy, and despised their own membership

President of the Union of Social Democrats Miro Lazović said that the unification of the left in Bosnia and Herzegovina should happen, but that new people who have shown that they know how to not only preserve but also develop the idea of social democracy should lead that united social democracy, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Namely, after the Social Democratic Party (SDP) suffered a complete collapse in the last General Elections in BiH, the president of this party, Zlatko Lagumdžija, called for the unification of social democracy in BiH. First of all, Lagumdžija called on the DF and Željko Komšić to unite.
Lazović said that after the catastrophic results of the SDP, the time has certainly come to talk about the unification of social democracy. He said that the USD is also ready to participate in this process, but the idea of unifying social democracy in BiH must be represented and carried by people who will not be alienated from the people, who will not be alienated from the state, and who will practice the principles of social democracy, such as social sensitivity and dialogue, in everyday life.

-   The SDP suffered defeat because certain individuals in the SDP became alienated from these principles, in a way they became a bit arrogant, greedy, and showed contempt even for their own membership, let alone for other people – said Lazović.
