(Patria) - The guest of tonight's "7 plus" Hayat television show was the former President of the Assembly of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and a long-time actor and witness of BiH politics.
How can Milorad Dodik's humble and conciliatory statement the day after the visit of CIA Director William Burns to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and then to Serbia and Kosovo, be interpreted? When and when can the results of the messages, which were evidently clearly conveyed to the political actors in the region, be seen? These were some of the questions for Lazović.
He assessed it as interesting that it was an almost unannounced visit that began in Sarajevo two days ago, continued in Belgrade, and is now in Pristina. All of this, Lazović believes, speaks to the very strong interest of the American administration in the entire region, which evidently has many accumulated problems, not only on the Belgrade-Pristina and Belgrade-Sarajevo lines.
- It is certain that he arrived with a specific goal and that he conveyed messages that are clearly not fully communicated to the public, but, I believe, were directly conveyed in line with American interests.
The time has come to change policies, not only within Bosnia and Herzegovina but even more so within Serbian policy, in a way that finally closes all turbulent political processes that have continuously burdened the region for the last 30 years.
I think we will soon see changes, and I am optimistic that with this visit, we are closing a chapter of those destructive political influences that are reflecting on Bosnia and Herzegovina - says Lazović.
He also draws attention to another visit with identical destinations that occurred this week and attracted less media attention.
- It is interesting that the Assistant Secretary General of NATO, Boris Ruge, who is also a political advisor for political and security issues, was also in Sarajevo and Belgrade two days ago, and it is certainly to be expected that the two of them, in a coordinated manner, sent certain messages to both Sarajevo and Belgrade.
In this regard, Milorad Dodik's extremely conciliatory statements should also be viewed, because Željka Cvijanović, as a member of the Presidency, evidently conveyed messages from that meeting to him, so yesterday Dodik was a different Dodik and acted very calming and peaceful.
In this regard, his statement that he recognizes the state sovereignty of BiH is new to me because it means that he recognizes the state institutions and laws that are passed in the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which has so far met with resistance and blockades from Republika Srpska, mostly in relation to the Constitutional Court.
Furthermore, this statement is symptomatic and indicates that direct decisions were sent to Republika Srpska and Milorad Dodik, and that it is necessary for him to stop the secessionist policy, as well as the blockades that are taking Bosnia and Herzegovina further away from the EU and NATO - adds Lazović.
