Lazović: Hint of RS secession, the conclusions are the first or second step Milorad has taken

(Patria) - What we are currently experiencing is the peak of a crisis that, in some latent state, has been ongoing since 1996, emphasizes Miro Lazović, president of the Forum of BiH Parliamentarians of 1990, at the beginning of a conversation about current political circumstances. What has been happening in recent months, at the same time, hints that BiH is entering its final political solution that will determine its future, he points out.

“Today, battles are being fought over whether BiH will become a civic state, characteristic of the EU, or whether we will remain cemented in some ethnic policies, due to which Bosnians and Herzegovinians will leave the country even more because they do not want to live in ethnic cages,” stated Lazović for N1.

As an unavoidable question in the conversation about current circumstances, the one concerning the involvement of foreign powers in resolving the crisis also arises, such as the engagement of British parliamentarians who, last night, again discussed the issue of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“Great world powers like the USA and Great Britain have entered this area in the past few months because they have become aware that it was left to Russian influence. It was left to Vučić in a way that, together with Putin, he uses Milorad Dodik to realize his goals,” emphasizes Lazović.

He adds that it is in the interest of Russian diplomacy to prevent the strengthening of the EU in this area, the expansion of NATO, and to enter into a trade of its interests with the USA through the policy of Milorad Dodik.

He also touched upon internal issues, especially the recent conclusions of the NSRS.

“For me, that assembly is a hint of the secession of the RS from BiH – that is the first or second step that Milorad has taken. If there is no adequate response from the international community and the BiH Prosecutor's Office, then Milorad Dodik will go further up the steps, in a way that brings BiH to a final act. He behaves like a gambler who goes all or nothing,” said Lazović, adding that Christian Schmidt should put pressure on the BiH Prosecutor's Office to resolve the problem.

“The BiH Prosecutor's Office should have already formed a case to consider whether the conclusions of the NSRS are an attack on the constitutional order of BiH. Schmidt wisely remains silent while insults against the OHR continue, they have already been denied attendance at the NSRS session twice,” emphasizes the N1 interlocutor.

“Awakening of political forces” advocating for the interests of BiH

However, on this issue, Lazović expects, as he says, an “awakening of political forces.”

“By that, I mean that in Sarajevo, parties that are for BiH should not be disunited, looking at how to achieve certain political points by tearing each other down, while our state is slipping through our fingers. The political Bosnian-Herzegovinian factor will have to homogenize, with the help of the international community, for the defense of BiH's interests,” said Lazović on the N1 program.

Asked about who all should be united in that case, Lazović emphasizes that he does not think only of opposition parties, but of all those whose programmatic orientation includes the interests of BiH as a state of full human rights.

He stressed that he primarily means civic parties, but certainly also others – for example, the SDA and the Party for BiH. He adds that this bloc would have to agree on principles and send a message to Belgrade and Zagreb that there are red lines that will not be crossed.
