(Patria) - With all due respect to Mr. Michael Murphy, the US ambassador to BiH, it would have been better if he had not commented on the ruling of the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg on the appeal of Slaven Kovačević, this is the reaction of Miro Lazović, president of the Forum of Parliamentarians 1990, to Ambassador Murphy's statement on the Kovačević v. Bosnia and Herzegovina ruling.
Ambassador Murphy, we recall, said that the implementation of the Strasbourg court's ruling in the case of Kovačević v. Bosnia and Herzegovina depends solely on the political leaders in BiH.
"If the parties refuse any part of it, it will be very difficult, almost impossible to do. It will depend on how they assess their negotiating position and whether they are willing or not to do it. The cost for the people of BiH will be enormous if politicians do not step up and accept responsibility and work in the best interest of the citizens," Murphy emphasized.
Lazović responds to all this: "With his stance, he only encouraged the opponents of the ruling, especially Čović and Dodik, and absolved the leaders of the TROIKA of responsibility, because they supposedly want to implement the ruling but their coalition partners HDZ and SNSD will not allow it."
