Lavrov again threatens BiH, tells French that the West has chosen a dangerous path

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that during talks with the French Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defence, BiH and Kosovo were discussed, and that the West is trying to impose illegitimate solutions.

According to him, the High Representative was appointed in gross violation of the procedures stipulated in the Dayton Agreement, which require the consent of all three constituent peoples, as well as in gross violation of the procedure necessary for the approval of that decision within the UN Security Council.

- We pointed out to our French colleagues that this is a very risky path chosen by Western countries, as it poses a threat to the coexistence of Serbs, Croats, and Bosniaks within one state,” Lavrov emphasized.

Lavrov said that he and his colleague Sergey Shoigu also drew the attention of the French ministers to the issue of Kosovo, where the EU, playing the role of mediator in the Belgrade-Pristina negotiations, as he said, is unable to implement the decisions made with its support, primarily concerning the community of Serb municipalities.

- This is a principled issue that allows Serbs in that region to preserve their national identity. All praise to the EU for managing to secure such an agreement, however, the fact that Brussels cannot force Pristina to implement that agreement speaks volumes in itself,” he stated.

Russian Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defence Sergey Shoigu and Sergey Lavrov held talks today in a "two plus two" format with their French counterparts – Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defence Jean-Yves Le Drian and Florence Parly.
