Lavić and Zornić: Negotiators came to twist the arm of the softest group – this Bosnian one!

(Patria) - Appearing on Hayat TV, Professor Senadin Lavić, speaking about electoral reforms and the ongoing negotiations in the context of non-implementation of Strasbourg rulings in which discrimination was unequivocally established, particularly highlighted the importance of the Azra Zornić v. Bosnia and Herzegovina ruling.

„All rulings are important, but the ruling of Mrs. Zornić is one of the key rulings that allows us to create a political system aligned with European norms. This means that, if Mrs. Azra said that she is a citizen of BiH and was discriminated against solely because of that, then something must be done. Rights must be granted to persons who live in BiH as citizens. Due to the ethnopolitics that dominates, we have failed to implement them for several years, and the implementation of these rulings would significantly change our political and legal situation, and probably those who know this will not take these rulings into account at all“, said Lavić.

Lavić also commented on the negotiations that will continue in Neum, which have sparked great debate and outcry in the public.

„The situation we find ourselves in is truly paradoxical. In what sense? You see, preparations were made to block BiH at the level of the Council of Ministers, the HDZ has been blocking the Federation for three years, and these were actually steps to have certain blackmails and demands met in order to achieve what could not be achieved legally. Palmer and Eichhorst remind me of situations in the 1990s when negotiators broke the Bosnian government and forced it and reduced it to a third party. There can be no more negotiations here unless the blockade of the state at all levels, organized by Dodik and Čović, i.e., Belgrade and Zagreb, ceases.

These negotiators who came to twist the arm of the softest group – this Bosnian one – should know that Belgrade and Zagreb ensure chaos, instability, and de-sovereignization of BiH. These attempts to hide the talks from the citizens and take them out of BiH's institutions and hold them at roadside inns – Neum is a roadside inn – and the Electoral Law cannot be discussed there. The Constitution of BiH cannot be negotiated in cafes and resorts“, said Lavić.

Those who try to participate in the negotiations must know that they are helping Čović get what he wants.

„This is not just a set of his wishes, but an anti-Bosnian initiative to get a third entity through the Electoral Law, and that is a checkmate position for BiH“, added Lavić, noting that it should be demanded that everything be returned to BiH's institutions and Sarajevo.

„That international negotiators stop treating BiH like a banana republic. BiH is an internationally recognized state, it has its institutions, the Constitution is regulated in the PSBiH, and that is where talks should take place“, added Lavić.

The professor also wondered why the proposals of DF, SDP, and some other parties, which also have very high-quality proposals, are not being considered.

Lavić also emphasized that the word 'constituent' that hovers over us must be demystified.

„We will be so smart and wise that the Electoral Law will be dictated from Neum and the state of BiH will be made“, added Lavić.

Azra Zornić, who also appeared on the Hayat TV program, commented on the new attempt by mediators Matthew Palmer and Angelina Eichhorst to reach an agreement on amendments to the Electoral Law.

“With their arrival, they encourage nationalist-chauvinist leaders to persist in their fascist demands. It seems that the negotiation logic of this infamous duo relies on the principle of acceding to demands in order to stop the 'open destruction of BiH'. Based on the Sattler report, which saw the light of day long ago, and with the help of the renegade European Commissioner Varhelyi, Dodik and Čović, and along with them Izetbegović, get what they want. Dodik gets state property, which he can sell at will while paving the way for secession, Čović gets a third entity, and Izetbegović will be promised a new law against genocide denial, and perhaps a promise that he and his friends will not be on the sanctions list”, Zornić pointed out.

She added that it is not difficult to conclude what the mission of the infamous duo is.

"I would by no means call them mediators because, in my opinion, they do not have the capacity to be that. They get too lost in time and space. Why Neum? Because Čović thinks, in sports terms, that Čović will gain home-field advantage. It is still not clear who bears the hotel costs; if taxpayer money is being spent like that, it is yet another reason for these nationalist-chauvinists to leave power. Whatever happens, and if an agreement is reached in Neum, it will be neither legal nor legitimate, to use Čović's terminology”, said Zornić.
