Lagumdžija lobbied in Saudi Arabia for support of the Draft Resolution on the Genocide in Srebrenica

(Patria) - The Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United Nations, Zlatko Lagumdžija, visited Saudi Arabia.

As he announced, he also lobbied there for support of the United Nations Draft Resolution on the Genocide in Srebrenica.

The resolution will be put to a vote on May 23 this year.

"Regarding concrete support for the UN Resolution on the Genocide in Srebrenica today in Riyadh with Prince Turki, Waleed Elkhereiji, Miguel Angel Moratinos, Amr Musa… at a high-level meeting," Lagumdžija wrote.

Prince Turki Al Faisal is, incidentally, the president of the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies.

Waleed Elkhereiji is the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia.

Miguel Angel Moratinos is the High Representative for the UN Alliance of Civilizations, Under-Secretary-General of the UN. He was, incidentally, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain and a high-ranking official of the European Commission.

Amr Musa is a former Secretary-General of the Arab League and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt.

Lagumdžija took the opportunity, within the framework of his stay at an international forum, to talk with high officials from Egypt, the royal family of Saudi Arabia, Spain, Azerbaijan... about the importance of adopting this resolution.

"Back to New York tomorrow," Lagumdžija's social media post stated.

"Four more days of work," he added.

"A day (and night) travel to get here, a day and a half here (this is probably called intensive lobbying with people who can influence votes on Thursday), a day (and night) travel back to New York.

That's called a working weekend before four decisive days in New York.
