Lagumdžija in Munich discusses BiH with officials

At the 51st Munich Security Conference (Münchner Sicherheitskonferenz – MSC 2015)  held from 6 to 8 February 2015 in Munich, at the invitation of the MSC Chairman Ambassador Wolfgang Ischinger, Zlatko Lagumdžija, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was also present, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

The central theme of the Conference is the collapse of the international order through the lens of the crisis in Ukraine and its possible implications for European security, as well as the situation in the Middle East. The issue of the refugee crisis in the world and the fight against terrorism are also among the main topics of the conference. The conference is attended by about twenty heads of state and government, around 60 foreign and defence ministers, 30 leaders of major global companies, as well as a large number of parliamentary delegations, heads of international organisations, financial institutions, and others.

Among others, the conference is attended by German Chancellor Angela Merkel, US Vice President Joseph Biden, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov.

Lagumdžija also held a series of meetings with foreign ministers, including with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Lajčák, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Bert Koenders, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway Børge Brende, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov, with whom he discussed the situation in BiH and the region.

It was assessed that the British-German initiative represents a good opportunity to focus activities in the coming period on economic issues, and the need for the earliest possible completion of the government formation process and the undertaking of necessary reforms was once again highlighted.
