Lagumdžija: 200 days of offensive ahead of us

The Program Convention of the Social Democratic Party of BiH (SDP) began at 12:00 PM in a crowded KSC Skenderija. The party's concrete results to date and future plans were presented, and the president of the SDP, Zlatko Lagumdžija, addressed thousands of members and sympathizers from all over BiH. Lagumdžija said that SDP has 200 days until the elections, which is the reason for this gathering, reports the Patria News Agency.

- We need to work, to move into decisive, organized, and planned action. Two hundred days of offensive towards a better BiH. There were mistakes, I made them too, but there was always a choice between the greater and the lesser evil - said Lagumdžija.

Lagumdžija summarized the past three years and emphasized that the split with SBB was their choice and that it is a closed book for the SDP. Lagumdžija also called for the adoption of anti-corruption laws.

- We will be the first to call for the law to be applied starting with the SDP. No one has the right to take away honestly acquired property, but stolen property must be returned - said Lagumdžija.

In the past few days, Zlatko Lagumdžija emphasized that the time until the elections should be used to solve problems in BiH, not to define them. He reiterated this at all meetings with European officials who visited BiH in recent days, as well as at today's Convention, writes NAP.

As previously stated, SDP BiH has begun creating new policies – the BiH 2020 Manifesto, in which it will seek help and opinions from everyone, talk to people from the academic community, young people, businessmen, and experts, all with one goal: to offer solutions for a more prosperous future for this country.

Before the convention, Damir Hadžić, Minister of Transport and Communications of BiH, addressed the journalists, emphasizing that the main goal of the SDP will be employment and solving the difficult socio-economic situation. He also noted that the time has come for a civic BiH, and that any divisions should be eradicated, reports the Patria News Agency.

His party colleague Anto Domazet said that the standard of living in BiH can be improved and that this segment will also enable people to find employment.

- We need to work on strengthening the real sector, which can provide products for export, meaning an export-oriented economy and a driver of economic development. In this regard, we need to make a turnaround and prioritize industrial policies. Tourism development policies and all activities that can contribute to the competitive development of goods - said Domazet.

He added that all macroeconomic, industrial, and sectoral policies will be subordinated to this goal. Denis Bećirović, during his address, said that SDP MPs in the BiH Parliament have initiated a resolution demanding an investigation into the origin of property.

- We will not cooperate with criminals, and therefore we will work on building a state of law. Judicial institutions must do their job - said Bećirović.

The Federal Prime Minister and Secretary General of the SDP, Nermin Nikšić, addressed the attendees and said that there have been mistakes by the SDP in the past period, but that they should be acknowledged and tried again.

- We are ready to pay the price for social reforms, but for the benefit of citizens, but we will not pay the price for other parties, we cannot bear that burden. We are sending a message to everyone: we will punish crime. The fight against crime and corruption is next. The laws that we will resubmit to the parliamentary procedure next week will show who is against crime and who is protecting it - said Nikšić.

Incidentally, a brochure was promoted at the Convention today, prepared for the Convention delegates, which talks about the first steps towards a better Bosnia and Herzegovina.
