Lagumdžija: Excellent news from Strasbourg, congratulations to savers

The judgment of the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, which made a final decision that Slovenia and Serbia must return billions to BiH savers who had savings in Ljubljanska and Invest bank, did not only please the savers, writes the Patria News Agency.

Namely, Zlatko Lagumdžija, Minister of Foreign Affairs, announced on social networks that after a very successful day in Brussels and the donor conference, which they had been preparing for a long time, excellent news from Strasbourg arrived for the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- Ambassador Almir Šahović informed the MFA about the final Decision of the European Court, which confirmed the violation of the Convention on Human Rights by Slovenia and Serbia regarding old foreign currency savings in Ljubljanska and Invest bank, and ordered Slovenia and Serbia to take necessary measures within a year to enable all savers in BiH to receive the return of their savings deposits under the same conditions as domestic citizens of Slovenia and Serbia. I welcome today's decision of the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. I congratulate everyone who worked on this case, the citizens of BiH and all savers, for finally seeing justice after a long and exhausting process. This is just an additional incentive for all of us to build a European BiH based on European values of human and civil rights – Lagumdžija wrote.
