Zlatko Lagumdžija, BiH Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated on social media how proud he is of Irmela Peranović, who won BiH's first gold medal at the Special Olympics in Antwerp.
- Irmela, you are the pride of our country – Lagumdžija wrote, adding that he feels proud.
Irmela won the brightest medal by taking first place in the 25m freestyle swimming. In addition to Irmela Peranović, Miro Vasić also competed in the finals, taking fourth place in the 25m freestyle and missing out on a bronze medal by five hundredths of a second.
