CT scanner malfunction at General Hospital, Dr. Izetbegović used it to praise herself!?

At the General Hospital "Prim. dr. Abdulah Nakaš" in Sarajevo, the CT scanner stopped working today (August 7, 2017) around 3 PM, and a patient with injuries was referred to the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo. Media close to SDA and the general director of KCUS, Sebija Izetbegović, used this moment to ask in their articles "will 'hell break loose' after this news and will the media start attacking the director of the hospital 'Prim. dr. Abdulah Nakaš' prim. dr. Zlatko Kravić, and will the media hunt for the head of the Internal Medicine Department, Dr. Dragan Stevanović, who sent a medical SOS call to KCUS, begin now?"

KCUS promptly issued a statement that "all patients referred to them from the General Hospital 'Prim. dr. Abdulah Nakaš' will be triaged according to urgency and referral diagnosis. The staff of the Radiology Clinic will work at an accelerated pace, but we expect this work to be adequately compensated by the Sarajevo Canton Health Insurance Fund."

As Dr. Stevanović explained in a statement to Patria, the CT scanner will be serviced within four days, and only emergency patients will be referred to KCUS. Therefore, there will be no crowds, nor will KCUS have to work at an accelerated pace as stated by KCUS.

- For example, from 3 PM to 9 PM, I sent two patients to KCUS. I see no reason for alarm and such articles. The General Hospital has one CT scanner, and it will be serviced in the next three days, at the latest four – said Dr. Stevanović, adding that he did send a fax to the head nurse of KCUS, as requested.

And instead of worrying about the quality of health, Dr. Izetbegović, with this act, proved that, despite the purpose of KCUS, she is concerned about finances and uses every opportunity to draw attention to other colleagues. She engaged her PR staff to send a statement from a private email about how KCUS will receive urgent patients! Isn't that the obligation of every medical institution?

Media close to SDA have clearly addressed the CT scanner malfunction directly to the management of the General Hospital and ironically wondered at the end "is prof. dr. Sebija Izetbegović also to blame for this case, after all, she left the hospital 'Prim. dr. Abdulah Nakaš' in impeccable condition, she must be to blame!"?
