CSBiH Sarajevo Canton: Price increases for services have begun, water is more expensive, and waste collection will be soon!

(Patria) - According to the new price list, the price of water supply services for citizens in the Household category
from the consumer category of 5-30 cubic meters will be 1.66 KM per cubic meter, instead of the current 1.25 per cubic meter. The fixed part of the price, which was 2 KM until now, will now be 3.26 KM, according to a statement from the Cantonal Board of the Party for BiH.

"This means that the increase per cubic meter of water will be 32.8%, and the fixed part of the increase will be 63%.

For 10 cubic meters of water, the increase in the water supply service price will amount to approximately 6 KM per month, while on an annual level it will be approximately 72 KM. Based on this and the supply of 10 cubic meters of water, the Water and Sewerage company will generate approximately 7 million KM annually. Therefore, 7 million KM will be extorted from the citizens of Sarajevo," states the CSBiH Sarajevo Canton.

They add: "This increase in the water supply service price will not be used for network renovation, but for new employment. VIK plans new hirings, and the results of the water supply network renovation through an EBRD loan have resulted in increased losses, not decreased ones".

"The next decision of the Cantonal Government, 'politically brave decisions,' will be an increase in waste collection services.
The next decision of FERK will be an increase in the price of electricity. All these price increases for services will contribute to a blow to household budgets and will be used to cover losses in the operations of companies and the hiring of new employees. Citizens will pay for covering operational losses and hiring new employees.

Looking at the losses of these companies, it is clear that investing in the network or improving the quality of service is the last priority for these companies.
