German Language Course for Children from Socially Needy Families

(Patria) Since February 2020, the association "Ruku na srce" and the Goethe Institute have launched a German language course for children from socially needy families. Once a week in the premises of the Homework Hub, children from the association "Ruku na srce" have the opportunity to learn and improve their German language with the help of teachers from the Goethe Institute.

"The idea for cooperation with the association "Ruku na srce" emerged during the New Year holidays, and the opportunity arose for joint work on the informal education of the children from the association. The Goethe Institute believes that through this cooperation, it promotes multilingualism and thus supports those who will attend the German language course in their further education, as well as their positioning in the labor market in the future," said Mirza Kovačević, Coordinator for Educational Cooperation at the Goethe Institute, on this occasion.

The association "Ruku na srce" and the Goethe Institute will continue to join forces and, through joint efforts, create additional opportunities for new generations to succeed and provide them with the possibility of a better future in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Adnan Lukač, a volunteer at the association "Ruku na srce", said: "This cooperation means a lot to us because, starting this year, we are focusing our activities precisely on the informal education of our children. We are very grateful to the Goethe Institute for the support they provide us through this project, and we are sure that this cooperation will continue to mutual satisfaction, all with the aim of humanity."

"The Institute's desire is to position itself in the sphere of social responsibility and to work on building awareness of important social issues and everyday life. We pay great attention to the promotion of ecology and humanitarian actions, and if they are focused on education, as this one is, then our mission is certainly fulfilled," added Mirza Kovačević.
