The new artistic season at the National Theatre Sarajevo (NPS) will be opened on October 14 with the play "Hamlet in the Village of Mrduša Donja" or "Hamlet Knows What the People Do Not Know", directed by the recently deceased director Sulejman Kupusović, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.
Already on October 15, the repertoire includes Kupusović's opera "Hasanaginica", and on October 16 the play "Balkan Spy in Sarajevo".
The same night, an exhibition in honor of Sulejman Kupusović will be set up, recalling his creative and artistic work.
The NPS Opera season will open on November 22 with the play "Ero from the Other World", while in the second part of the season the opera "The Marriage of Figaro" will be revived.
As was pointed out at today's press conference, the National Theatre Sarajevo is fighting for survival and is literally on the brink of existence, reports Patria.
