Kundurović laid flowers at the monument in the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park

Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Japan Anesa Kundurović laid flowers at the monument in the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park as a sign of respect for the victims of the atomic bombing. Ambassador Kundurović, at the invitation of the mayors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, is attending the commemoration marking the 70th anniversary of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki from August 5 to 9, 2015.

In a statement to the media after laying the flowers, Ambassador Kundurović emphasized that the innocent victims must not be forgotten, and that remembering them should serve as a reminder that we must pursue a policy of peace and open dialogue, promoting and respecting the highest humanistic values.

- Hiroshima and Nagasaki bear witness to all the horrors caused by nuclear weapons, and therefore in the 21st century maximum efforts must be invested in global disarmament and the prohibition of the use of atomic weapons, so that such tragedies never happen again anywhere - Ambassador Kundurović pointed out.

As part of the program marking the 70th anniversary of the bombing, peace ceremonies will be held on August 6 in Hiroshima and August 8 in Nagasaki, and a large number of other events are planned.
