Cultural scene is flourishing in BiH

Young BiH artist Lea Jerlagić is the author of an art installation attracting attention at the Java gallery in Sarajevo. Lea, as she says, is a dancer and a graphic artist. The latest installation, she points out, is an attempt to combine dance and visual arts, or rather, the transformation of dance movement into visual expression. This young artist studied in China as a scholarship holder of the local government.

- As a student in China, I encountered Chinese calligraphy, thanks to which the phenomenon of "synesthesia" occurs, where an impulse received through one sense, after internal transformation, is expressed through another sense - says Jerlagić.

This is not her first solo exhibition. In China, she presented herself with Chinese woodcuts, after which she also exhibited at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo and the AB gallery in Maglaj. She is a member of the independent dance group "Koreokret", whose performance opened her exhibition. The group is currently working on the project "Panopticum" for Polish designer Marta Poznanski.

- When you are outside the country and look at the cultural and artistic scene in Bosnia and Herzegovina, you see that it is flourishing. It is not limited by the system, it is free and alive, and it possesses enormous potential that just needs to be noticed - emphasizes this artist.
