(Patria) - "We live in a time when a new world configuration will have to be made, Serbs must not be caught off guard, we must say now that in this century we want a unified state consisting of Serbia, Republika Srpska, and Montenegro," Dodik said two days ago. And he added, "other Serbian lands," including Kosovo. This is identical to Milošević's style of political manipulation, who said "We are for peace" while destroying Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Kosovo, Adil Kulenović, president of Krug 99, recalled.
We are transmitting his address in its entirety.
"Dodik is feeding the dulled public a 'Trojan horse' about peaceful secession and denying the Serbian intention to wage war for it. Almost simultaneously, two days before that, the Council of Ministers rejected symbolic financial participation for the procurement of American multi-purpose helicopters for the needs of the Armed Forces, the most sought-after product in the world.
Of course, through blockades and the rejection by ministers from RS. One might say, 'a nod is as good as a wink' to understand the dangerous intentions with war consequences. A decisive and clear response must be given to Dodik's brutal project and actions: there will be no hesitation in defending the country! However, our dulled public, eroded by the means and methods of hybrid warfare, does not seem to have everything completely clear yet.
Even despite historical memory and lessons from the recent past, the tangible cyclical repetition of history (Carlos Fuentes) on the local and global level, a kind of historical circulus vitiosus, an "enchanted circle," and the renewal of evil from previous periods. The constants that are repeating in the current geopolitical circumstances are identical: great-state ethno-territorial expansion of neighbors and the division of BiH, systematic prevention of building a civic, Bosnian national, state identity, and forgetting the past.
Of course, an identity that does not reject any other identity, be it national or religious, regional or sexual, or any other. Our long-term historical constants are: hegemonic ideology and political strategy from both the east and west of the country, almost two centuries old, but also the courage to resist and resilience from the forties and nineties of the last century.
Those who will not or cannot learn from past mistakes are doomed to repeat them and to defeat. We no longer have the luxury of just interpreting the situation, but of seeking answers to the question of what to do in the given geopolitical, regional, and internal Bosnian circumstances!?!
Should we succumb to the malice of cynics who will gloat over every fear and action of Bosnian patriots in the face of coming dangers? Should we succumb to modern producers of opium for the public, bots, who from hidden corners introduce the virus of doubt and deception - that Dodik, for example, does not mean it seriously, nor will he do what he says? Should we succumb to the insidious reporting of some media, as last night, in the case of the epic tragedy in Gaza, reducing it to a war of the Jewish people against the Palestinian people, instead of the Zionist regime of the state of Israel against the rights of Palestinians to a state?
Or reducing spontaneous civil protests in Mostar, in the point of the report, to an Islamic component and illegal gathering, while in reports about protests in the world hiding the massive anti-Zionist resistance of Jews themselves to the occupying regime of the state of Israel?
That is why our session today is on the topic: Realpolitik answers to security threats in and around BiH. I am particularly pleased that our keynote speaker is a politician of the younger generation, the Prime Minister of the Tuzla Canton, Mr. Irfan Halilagić.
Without trying to go "under the raindrops," the government he leads has avoided the traps of modern narratives about talks that have no alternative, nor has it obscured its responsibility for real security challenges and concrete actions by relying on the changing will of international actors. Instead, it seems that they are truly responsibly and realpolitically facing challenges of the highest rank in relation to security threats in and towards BiH.
It is to be believed that the necessary answers to security challenges will come "from below" in the circumstances of blocked state institutions, and through greater inter-cantonal cooperation in building a security system and realistic responses to security risks. The dangers of militarization of security structures and society in RS, including through drawing borders and renewing Herceg Bosna, require measures to prevent conflict situations and potential violent actions. Sensitizing the population to sudden situations is a necessity, and empowering civil organizations and state institutions is a key prerequisite.
