(Patria) - A regular session of Krug 99 was held today in Sarajevo on the topic "Siege of Sarajevo - Failure of Genocidal Intent". The keynote speaker was retired Major General Vahid Karavelić.
In his introductory address, the president of Krug 99, Adil Kulenović, stated that the reason for today's session topic is twofold.
- On one hand, the memorialization of our past, which is linked to April 6th, and the necessity of memorialization, simply remembering. But at the same time, the need for an even more objective view of the past, which distance allows.
That historical distance which, when passions subside and facts are reliably assembled, makes the truth about crucial events more objective.
The judgments of the Hague Tribunal on our recent past are reliable indicators and confirmed facts, but the synthesis of direct participants, those most responsible, even in the circumstances of the 1,425-day siege of Sarajevo, is the most complete and irreplaceable - said Kulenović.
According to him, regardless of all subsequent judgments and legal aporias, the genocidal intentions were clear from the very beginning of the war.
- Not only because of the experience gained in World War II, but due to the identical methods and means with which the genocidal intent unfolded from 1992 in Bosnia and Herzegovina - from eastern Bosnia to Bosnian Krajina, from Herzegovina to Posavina...
Srebrenica is just the tip of the iceberg. The siege of villages and towns, camps and execution sites, expulsion and displacement of the population, deportations abroad, crimes against humanity unfolded according to the same pattern and projected plan...
The culmination of that genocidal intent was supposed to be the capital city of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina - Sarajevo, the greatest failure of the genocidal intent of Greater Serbian expansionism.
With the fall of Sarajevo, the genocidal intent would have been realized. The citizens of Sarajevo were, in their own way, heroes of the defense of the besieged city, without whom even the first lines of defense would not have survived.
Karadžić intended 18% of BiH territory for Bosniaks, Dodik offers them 25% today.
The ethnic composition of BiH was altered by the crimes of genocide and joint criminal enterprises, which is evident even from a superficial comparison of data from the 1991 census with those from the 2013 census. These data are the crown evidence of genocidal intent.
Current data would be even more drastic in describing the violent ethnic separation. The projected ethnic composition of BiH is clearly intended to be created through political violence that does not shy away from repeating crimes. And not just from one side, the Serbian side, against BiH.
Post-war political processes have not stopped, but have strengthened the old criminal intent through other means. The policy of appeasement towards perpetrators of violence on the political scene of BiH in the post-war period by actors of the international community, as well as domestic ones, has led to the deep crisis in which BiH finds itself today.
Instead of seeking responsibility for removing the material and political consequences after the judgments for genocide and joint criminal enterprises were handed down, the European 'stabilocracy' turned a blind eye.
It is to be believed that the announced Resolution of the United Nations General Assembly will return BiH to the path of final recovery from the tragic consequences of the war against BiH - concluded Kulenović.
