Cantonal Inspectorate of Sarajevo Canton on the arrest of the chief inspector of the education inspectorate: We give full support to investigative and judicial bodies

(Patria) - The Cantonal Directorate for Inspection Affairs of Sarajevo Canton informs the public that the Chief Cantonal Inspector of the Education Inspectorate of this Directorate is suspected of abuse of official position or authority.

"This Directorate is fully committed to respecting the rule of law and in this regard, we give full support to all investigative and judicial bodies in carrying out activities within their jurisdiction, to whom we are available at all times.

The fight against corruption and other illegal activities is one of the strategic priorities of this institution, and we give full support for a quick and lawful response, without exceptions. Cases like this, however challenging, are an opportunity for the system to show that it works and that no one is above the law.

At the same time, we want to support and encourage all inspectors and employees of the Directorate who professionally and responsibly perform their work tasks, and in this way, we want to protect their integrity from generalization.

The Directorate continuously implements measures to improve integrity, education, internal control procedures, as well as other activities in the fight against corruption and other illegal activities, in order to strengthen citizens' trust in the Inspectorate. Our commitment is to continue to improve the work of inspectors and all employees of this institution by strengthening control mechanisms, and to act decisively at every step to reduce the risk of illegal actions.

The Cantonal Directorate for Inspection Affairs of Sarajevo Canton will, upon receiving official information and instructions from the competent authorities, act in accordance with regulations and continue to inform the public transparently and responsibly about further developments related to this case," the KUIP announced.
