SNSD in turmoil: Vasić tells Dodik to go, Radojičić backs him

Milorad Dodik should leave his position as president of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD), stated Rajko Vasić in his blog, reports the Patria News Agency. 

Vasić also states that all of Dodik's organizational decisions in the last three years have been wrong, and he also expressed his readiness to run for the president of SNSD.

“For two years now, SNSD has been on the defensive in public. Dodik's positions cannot replace the Party's positions”,  Vasić claims in his blog.

“The Alliance of Independent Social Democrats is a leading party that has outgrown the role of its President. Because of this, Dodik has begun to depress the Party, its organization, by applying methods from 10 years ago, such as dissolving municipal committees, even in an election year, with complete voluntarism in the candidate process and in assembling the ministerial mosaic, which has prevented the Party from enjoying the fruits of its labor and electoral results”, Vasić wrote, adding that he believes Dodik should be offered the position of “honorary president of the Party”.

The former general secretary of SNSD and once one of Dodik's most trusted men, with his statement, only confirmed media speculation that there is growing dissatisfaction within this party with the policies of their leader, Milorad Dodik.

Vasić demanded that Dodik withdraw from the position of SNSD president and separate himself from “organization and personnel policy”.

SNSD must transform into a Social Alliance Party. This way, it will represent the broadest strata of the population more comprehensively, Vasić believes.

„I have had requests for meetings with representatives of certain official foreign circles operating in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which I have not accepted. To reject any insinuation that I am working for someone, I can say that I am ready to run for president of SNSD regardless of the result. Therefore, I am working only for the Party and in my own name“, Vasić wrote in his blog.

Vasić also stated that Dodik should prepare for the position of “member of the Presidency of BiH from 2018”, because he assumes that “Ivanić will have significantly devastated that position by then” and weakened the position of Republika Srpska in that joint body at the BiH level.

For some time now, there have been talks about two factions within SNSD, Dodik's and Radojičić's.

Above all, Vasić blames his party leader for enabling an unbearable level of external power and influence within the party, at all levels and in all processes. He further writes that Dodik has introduced “feudal-managerial profiles of personalities into SNSD who did not come from the organization and are not capable of organizational action”. Because of all this, Vasić predicts the collapse of SNSD in the general elections in 2018.

Interestingly, immediately after Vasić's announcement, Igor Radojičić also commented, stating on Twitter that this is “the best, most systematic analysis of the situation in SNSD ever written”
