CS: Eight ministries and 12 associations working on action plan for persons with disabilities

Organized by the Quality Office of Sarajevo Canton, a meeting was held between representatives of the Coordination Committee of Associations of Persons with Disabilities of CS and eight ministries of Sarajevo Canton, discussing the Draft Action Plan for Disability 2015-2017 in CS, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Currently, 12 associations of persons with disabilities, which are part of the aforementioned Coordination Committee, are participating in the drafting of this document. Their representatives presented the current problems faced by persons with disabilities in Sarajevo Canton, as well as proposals for solutions that should be incorporated into the text of the document. Accessibility to facilities, public transport, information, as well as orthopedic and other aids, are just some of the needs of this population.

At the meeting, it was agreed that, in order to improve the quality of life of persons with disabilities, all relevant ministries in the Canton will give their full support to the action plan and participate in its development. This commitment was made by the Ministry of Justice and Administration, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Housing Policy, the Ministry of Spatial Planning and Environmental Protection, the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth, the Ministry of Labor, Social Policy, Displaced Persons and Refugees, the Ministry of Interior, and the Ministry of Culture and Sports.

The cooperation between ministries and associations will be coordinated by the Quality Office of CS.
